Joe and I were kicking off a week-long vacation in Springfield by celebrating Thanksgiving at my parent's house. It was around ten or so in the morning, we had just returned from County Market and were about to unload the groceries, when out of nowhere he got down on one knee beside Judy 44 (my mom's car), pulled a ring from his pocket and asked me to marry him. I said "yes!" right away and was completely overcome by a flood of emotions. We talked for a minute or so and then we ran inside to tell everyone the good news. Later on in the day, I was able to compose myself for this picture taken by my mom at the scene of the proposal:
After lots of celebrating in Springfield, we headed to Chicago for an impromptu engagement party thrown by all our amazing friends (I guess it wasn't exactly impromptu since they all knew it was happening long before me). And the following morning we headed to Cabo for five days where we relaxed on the beach and I tried not to ask Joe too many questions about his vision for our wedding:)
